Bio Summary: Maj Jay Casello (Ret.) served 24 yrs in the United States Air Force as a Combat Rescue Officer and his career culminated with 6.5 years in leadership positions at the 176th Rescue Wing and the 212th Rescue Squadron in Anchorage, Alaska. As a Search and Rescue Director of Operations and Team Commander, Jay led the Pararescue team in civilian search and rescue missions, and natural disaster response as well as multiple combat deployments ensuring survivor contact, treatment, and extraction in denied, uncertain, and hostile territories. Jay joined the military in 1994 as a Survival, Evasion, Resistance and Escape (SERE) Specialist and served 7 yrs as a field training and water survival instructor. Jay earned his commission in 2002 and was assigned to Active Duty Rescue Squadrons in Georgia, Nevada and at PACAF Headquarters in Hawaii. For his final assignment, Jay served as a full-time Guard member stationed in Alaska and led a team of highly trained and dedicated Pararescuemen, ensuring mission success. Throughout his career, he is credited with 100s of missions resulting in many civilian and military lives saved. 

In 2022, the AKPJ leadership asked Jay to help support a new non-profit organization based out of Anchorage Alaska. Honored to once again be a part of such an incredibly important mission, Jay accepted the position of Ambassador and now serves in support of the Archangel AKPJ Association. As a Team Commander Jay has always put Pararescuemen and their families first and now continues to support them as a veteran.
